How to Edit a Task

EDIT A TASK

In this tutorial, you will learn how to Edit a single existing Task within a transaction.  There are also various operations you can use to edit multiple tasks at once, explained in the second half of this article.  

 

First, choose the transaction you would like to edit a task in:

Now click on the Tasks tab:

Select the three-dot button smallpic.png next to the task you want to edit and select "Edit":

Then, you may make your changes and click Save:

If you would like to bulk edit tasks, you may select multiple tasks at once to CHANGE ASSIGNEEMARK AS FINISHEDMARK AS ACTIVECHANGE CATEGORY, or REMOVE:

You will receive an error message in the specific cases below if you are performing disallowed actions from the Task tool bar: 

Change Assignee:
Error Message: “Assignee can not be changed for External and Declined tasks.”

  • If the task is external and/or declined

Change Category:
Error Message: “Category can not be changed for declined tasks.“

  • If the task is declined

Error Message: “Category can not be changed for external completed and assigned tasks, if you’re not an assignee.”

  • If the task is external and you are not the assignee

Remove:

Error Message: “You can not remove external completed, declined and assigned tasks, if you’re not an assignee.“

  • If the task is external and user is not assignee

Mark as Finished:

Error Message: “You can only mark internal and assigned tasks as finished“

  • If the task is external and/or unassigned

Mark as Active:

Error Message: “You can only mark internal and completed tasks as active.“

  • If the task is external and/or not completed
